My friend is such a sweetheart. I just helped her move out of her family home and into a share house. I know she was trying to act like she was excited and not nervous, but I’ve known her for her entire life. It was obvious that she was absolutely packing it, and so I wanted to do what I could to make her feel like everything was going to be okay.
I offered up my Saturday last week to help her move. She’s asked to use my ute again this weekend but she said she doesn’t need my help this time with moving. I’m happy to do whatever I can for her so of course, I said yes to her borrowing it. I’ll have to do my weekend cashies without the ute that has the premium tapered under tray toolboxes, but I’ll make it work for one weekend. She wouldn’t ask for help if she didn’t need it, and I’m happy to help her in any way that I can.
Oh my God! It’s Sunday night and she just honked to let me know she was out the front. I went out to say hey and thank her for bringing my truck back before work tomorrow, and then I look at the car and she’s added ute canopies. In the Melbourne CBD tradies who have ute canopies on their cars are seen as more professional. I’ve been saving up to get a canopy on my ute for months. I can’t believe she’s done this!
She looked so happy with herself when she saw my reaction. She went on this spiel about how grateful she is for everything I’ve done for her and how she wanted to repay my kindness. I’m kind of embarrassed to admit this, but I got really teary listening to her say all this nice stuff about me. Now I’m the grateful one. I can’t wait to rock up to work tomorrow with my brand spanking new ute canopy.
